A dress or beautiful tailored pants

The key word: be elegant. Most of the time, we opt for a pretty dress adapted to its morphology but also to the season. In summer , you can dare bright colors , pastel shades or floral prints … When the temperatures drop , opt instead for darker colors (while avoiding black) with a few touches of glitter for example.

Also think about the comfort: the strapless dress or the straps which constantly fall, the size which serves too much, the dress which goes up constantly… Not very pleasant when one is partying all the evening!

The trouser suit to a wedding is also a very good alternative for those who do not like wearing dress or skirt. Equally classy, it is also an ideal outfit for weddings that take place in winter. It is preferably chosen in a solid color (beige, navy blue), which is completed with a silk and lace top . Glamorous effect guaranteed!

Black or white not recommended

At a wedding, there are certain color codes to respect . We absolutely avoid being dressed all in white, the color reserved for the bride. Ditto, the total black look is to be banned. In our Western culture, black remains too linked to mourning and sadness, but at a wedding we come to celebrate joy and love!

However, you can integrate a few touches of white or black in your outfit (top, clutch or pumps).

Complete your outfit with accessories

Impossible to have a wedding outfit without accessories! A hat , jewelry , a clutch , they add a final touch to the outfit. For the bag , I recommend the envelope format , both chic and practical. We forget the big bag that we wear everyday, not at all elegant. For jewelry, I would bet on a nice pair of earrings if you have your hair tied, or a nice necklace or a big cuff. For those who like, you can complete your look with a felt hat .

What about the shoes?

Once the outfit has been found, now comes the choice of shoes. For slender legs and a refined silhouette, bet on a pair of heels : closed pumps for the winter and heeled sandals for the summer. For more comfort, choose wedge shoes just as elegant as heels.

As for the color , you can stay in the same shades as your dress or suit. For the daring, opt for a much flashier color to contrast with the dress.

Should I change my outfit?

For some weddings, it is possible to plan two different outfits : one sober for the ceremony at the town hall or at the church for example, the other a little more “light” or fancy for the evening. However, you can simply change your jacket , shoes or pouch . A detail that can bring all its effect!
